Morning Guys, I have been under a bit of stress lately that I think it is starting to f... up my mind. I don't have panic attacks or anything like that. I am just jumpy, and lethargic. It feels alot like depression, but I am pretty sure it is caused by excessive stress. Without getting in too much detail - 1)my son is having medical problems, nothing life threatening just a bad ankle/foot, 2) he is also having problems at school because he's so smart - even his good friends are giving him a hard time. I feel as if I am the captain of this ship I call my family, but Now I am drinking whiskey, probably 4-6 glasses a night, but I have been doing that forever, so I am hoping I don't have to give that up to get back on trakk. I am wondering if I should talk to my PCP and maybe up my valium dose from 40 to 80 mg mg Or should I just buck up and get through this rough patch. All sincere replies and advice are welcome. Thank you all!

I wouldn't worry about it. I don't know if this will help but here is what my therapist told me about these kind of things a while ago. She said that when we feel overwhelmed its because the amount of stressors outweigh our natural guard systems. So, we don't have to try to solve every stressful thing in our life but just enough to get back in balance. I hope that makes sense . I now I didn't word it exactly as she did but it really helped me when she told me that information.

@ChillOutDude I think many of us are in your shoes. Things pile up and one day we feel overwhelmed, but that doesn't mean we go out there and start killing people. I am right there too. I don't take anti depressive drugs. I think you should talk to your Dr and he may be able to help you out. I think we need to let it out. It is good you can admit the way you are feeling and reach out. Take one day at a time as time solves every problem Exercise is good too but don't over do it, no more than 3 h /session. Be well dude
